Alright, all you faithful "Big Brother 8" blog readers out there, I officially admit it: I'm tired of this season's "twist."
Yes, I think it's great that we all get to share in the voting of the nominations and evictions, etc. But, it doesn't give Eric, "America's Player," a chance to vote the way HE wants to vote. If they're thinking about doing this kind of thing again, maybe instead of working through one of the houseguests, America could just cast their votes and be counted as an extra vote. And there's zilch in the suspense category. I thought the "twin twist" from a season or two ago, with Adrea and her twin sister (why can't I remember her name???) was much more suspenseful. Or when "Cowboy" and Nakomis found out they were related. (By the way, Evel, the red highlights in your hair can't hold a candle to Nakomis' hair color(s).) I hope there's a better twist than "America's Player" next season.
If I had to pick a favorite right now, I'd have to pick either Daniele or Jameka. I was rooting for "Evel Dick" for a while, but I'm growing tired of his getting in people's faces. We haven't let Eric act for himself, since he's "America's Player." Amber is just too darn emotional, weepy and unstable for me. Dustin's OK, except for the fact that he own's too many gray shirts. As we've seen, Zach just lumbers about. And, if you're a regular reader of this blog, and I hope you are (and if you're not ... get reading!), you all know how I feel about Jessica.
Since I'm just spouting random thoughts, I don't know how much I've talked about the "slop" factor. Before the "slop" concept, the losers of the Food Competition were placed on peanut buetter and jelly sandwiches for a week. While I'm not a fan of PB&J, I do love peanut butter. I could live on nothing else if I had to. (Well, that, barbeque chips and Dr. Pepper. Yes, I'm a gourmet eater ...) But, if I had to go a week on slop, I'd be a goner.
Just some random thoughts I figured I'd share. Michael, please keep posting. And I welcome and encourage anyone else who's reading to post their thoughts as well. See you after the show tonight./Brad

"Big Brother 8," Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007
After the recap, it’s Day 41 in the "Big Brother" house.
Kail and Eric are up on the chopping block for eviction tonight.
Eric says, "Being up against Kail is a lot easier than being up against a lot of other people. Kail has no power left in this game." Why am I hearing Glinda the Good Witch say, "You have no power here, be gone, before somebody drops a house on you!"? Eric says his safety in this game is in the hands of Jameka, Jessica, Amber and Dustin.
Kail says, "I feel my chances against Eric is very slim. I felt safer being nominated against Jen. With Jen, I know people don’t like Jen. But with Eric, everybody likes Eric."
Don’t be so sure there, Kail. Recent suspicions have cast a different light on Eric. Says Daniele, "I definitely want to see Eric leaving the house this week. He’s one of the biggest threats in the house to everybody. There’s evidence Eric has been playing both sides and I want him out.".Eric goes to talk to Amber. She tells him he has Amber’s, Dustin’s and Jameka’s vote to stay in the house. Amber promises--swears--on her little girl’s life. Don’t these reality show people know that’s never a good idea?
Dick goes to talk with Kail and Jen. He tells Kail, "Unbelievably, I’m saying I want you to stay in this house." I don’t believe he’s telling her that, either! He tells both Jen and Kail that he has a problem trusting them, and that they probably both feel the same about him.
Evel Dick then goes to talk to Amber and tells her Eric is playing too many sides. Since she swore on her daughter’s life, she doesn’t know what she’s going to do.
But then … incoming, incoming … Evel Dick drops a bombshell:
Dick tells Amber that Eric told Dick a story about her boyfriend, and he’s saving to use it for the right time. Amber told Eric that she told her boyfriend she was pregnant twice, and she wasn’t. She left him and they didn’t talk for eight months. Dick tells Amber he wants "to seal the deal and make sure he’s (Eric) gone."
Dick campaigns to get Eric out of the house. Dick says he will come to a one week agreement with Dustin that if he gets head of household, he doesn’t put Dick or Daniele up. If Dick gets HOH, he will not put up Amber or Dustin.
Dick tells Amber God will understand if she breaks her promise to Eric.
Amber tells Dustin about the deal Dick offered. Dustin said, "I don’t like the way that Dick plays this game. I want Dick out of this house more than I want Eric out of this house." Amber is gunning for Eric. Dustin says, "Amber, you are so a psycho right now." (He’s just now realizing this?) They both decide to vote to get rid of Eric.
Amber goes ballistic. She tells Eric that had she not sworn on her daughter’s life, she’d vote to evict him this week. Eric is sitting there speechless. Amber tells Eric he’s a devil in disguise. (I’m flashing back to I think it was "Big Brother 3," where Danielle says of Roddy, "He’s the Devil!") She screams about Nick to Eric, "You made him look like he was doing everything wrong, when it was you!" Wow! And the most amazing part was Amber got through the tirade without crying!
After the commercial break, Julie talks with the houseguests live.
Jameka is upset with herself for agreeing not being able to compete in the HOH competitions for the next five weeks. Jen says she’s not here to compete for the money, she’s here for the competition and the experience. Why am I not totally buying this?
Then there’s questions from the viewers about why Dustin wears the same gray T-shirt day in and day out and if he owns any other shirts. Dustin says, "It’s all about consistency and since Day 1 in this house, I’ve been wearing the same three gray T-shirts because I’m a very consistent person and I think it shows a lot about me. And consistency. And staying the same is pretty much my mode of operation." Or maybe he just likes gray and has a limited wardrobe.
Several blog entries ago, I mentioned that Evel Dick was quite the name dropper, so we hear from some rock stars and promoters about what it’s like to know Evel Dick. Someone’s been raiding Jen’s wardrobe, because one of his friends is wearing a shirt that says, "Jenuine Evel."
Julie then talks to Daniele in the Head of Household bedroom. Julie says that we’ve heard Dick tell Daniele he loves Daniele, but it was only after the Head of Household competition that she said she loves him back.
She hasn’t talked to her Dad in a long time. "Nobody knows the real story behind it. There are reasons. It was my choice. It’s a very slow process. Just because you’re stuck in a house with somebody isn’t going to change the past." But, she says, it is getting better.
"It’s hard for me being in the house, because people relate me to my Dad and expect me to be the same person that he is. The worst thing about it for me is that people are afraid of my Dad and don’t want to stick up to him, so I pretty much get the brunt of it and people take it out on me," Daniele says.
Daniele says Eric is the biggest threat in this house and she knows she’s making the right decision.
After the commercial break, we delve into Kail’s personal life. She owns four businesses. We meet Kail’s husband, Darin. He understands Dick yelling at her is part of the game strategy.
Kail and Jameka talk about religion. We again hear the organ music (that still makes me grin) as Jameka asks Kail, "Do you think you’d be classified as super religious?" Kail says she has no idea how people classify her in this house.
The two nominees get to address their housemates and plead their case.
Third-time nominee Kail says, "It never gets easier. Every week is as just as hard as the first, second week. And I just want to let you know. Thank you for keeping me here the first two weeks and I ask for another week because I don’t take any week for granted."
Eric says, "I came here on Day 1 thinking I was going to meet 13 strangers who were standing in my way of winning this game. And that notion didn’t last long once I had the chance to meet you guys. I had some rough times this week and you all collectively got me through it. I hope that I get to stay and continue to build these bonds and work on bonds that need repair. It means a lot to me."
It’s now time for the live voting:
Dick, Jen, Zach vote to evict Eric; Jessica, Jameka and Dustin vote to evict Kail. Amber, the deciding vote, votes to evict Kail, staying true to her promise to Eric.
By a vote of 4 to 3, Kail is evicted from the "Big Brother" house. I grinned as Kail was walking out of the house with her bunny feet flapping on the ground.
Dustin lies to Dick about voting Eric out.
We see the goodbye messages the houseguests have taped for Kail. Unfortunately, we don’t see Kail’s reaction to finding out Eric is "America’s Player." What up with that?
It’s time for the live Head of Household competition, "Let’s Make A Duel." Two houseguests face off against each other and will be asked questions things their evicted houseguests have said in the diary room, until there is one person left standing. In the end, Jessica wins the "Head of Household" competition
It’s time for the "America’s Player" poll: Who should Eric get nominated for eviction. OK, gang, I’m ready for Evel to go.
Jameka says, "Did I break my word? Did I do anything dishonest?" Dick tells Jameka she broke her word a long time ago. Dustin tells Jameka, "Work it out, girl," and Evel tells Dustin, "Shut up!" Dustin tells Evel Dick, "Don’t ever tell me what to do ever again." We leave the houseguests arguing.

"Big Brother," Tuesday, August 7, 2007
We start out on Day 35 in the "Big Brother" house.
Jen thinks she and Kail will survive a third round of being on the chopping block, but Evel Dick tells them one of them is going home. Evel starts in again on Jen, telling her "Your idiocy. It’s amazing, so much idiocy could fit in one body … Everybody in the house wanted you up three weeks in a row, both of you. One of you will be going home this week. Nobody likes you that much." (OK, why did the song, "That’s What Friends Are For" just pop in my head?)
Eric says he got wind of plans to go after him this week (thanks to Jessica). Jessica tells Eric, Dustin and Amber that Daniele and Dick want Eric gone this week. Dustin tells Jessica needs to play along with Dick and Daniele 100 percent. Says Amber, "Dude, they’re in for a rude awakening." Says Eric, "They think they’re playing us. We’re 15 steps ahead of them. And, I’m glad that they’re so proud of themselves and think that they’re so sly, because they‘re not." Dustin says the five of them--Amber, Jameka, Jessica, Eric and Dustin--need to stick together. (Do I hear another round of "That’s What Friends Are For"?)
Amber and Jameka say their group has the votes to control the game. Amber questions Jameka about Jessica’s loyalty, and Jameka says Jessica will be loyal.
Zach goes to talk to Daniele. He says, "I don’t have any friends here. They’re all gone, but I have you, which is pretty decent." Daniele said she was the only person to stick up for Nick, and tells Zach this week is for Nick. Zach says if he wins Power of Veto, he’ll do whatever Daniele wants him to do. In the Diary Room, Daniele says, "I know since Nick’s gone that Zach’s going to try to cling to me, because we have the ‘Nick bond’ or whatever, and I can use that to my advantage."
Dustin says if Dick and Daniele decide to go through with their plan, it’s going to be the two of them out on their own.
Wow, it’s been 13 minutes into the show and we’ve yet to see Amber cry. But the night is young.
After the commercial break, it’s time to pick players for the Veto Competition. Daniele, Jen and Kail will play, along with three other houseguests, chosen at random. Daniele picks the first ball and picks Zach; Jen picks Dustin; Kail gets Houseguest’s Choice and picks Jameka. Amber will serve as host. (That is, if she can keep herself emotionally together).
At the Veto Competition, there’s a bright blue pond and there were things covered up. "I saw things covered and when you see things covered, it’s never good," said Kail.
The competition is called, "The Numbers Don’t Lie." The person who bids the highest number will be required to actually complete the task. The lowest bidder is eliminated from the competition. The last houseguest standing will win the Power of Veto.
The first item is, "Show Me the Bunny": Over the next five days, how many hours are the houseguests willing to wear a bunny suit in order to stay in the competition. Dustin, bidding the lowest number of 100, is eliminated. Zach, Kail, Jen and Daniele have to wear the bunny suit.
The next item is, "Dump the Funk" Over the next 24 hours, how many times are they willing to have a funky mixture dumpeed over their head. They get a chance to look at the mixture before bidding. "It looks like looking in the bottom of a port-a-potty. It was just gross," says Kail. Everyone has offered to "Dump the Funk" on their head for 24 hours. All remain in the game.
Next is, $10,000 cash. The person who writes down the highest number from zero to 10,000 wins the amount of money they write down, however, he or she will be eliminated. All bid zero. Everyone is still in the competition and no one wins the $10,000 cash.
Next is "Sloppy Summer." Over the next 30 days, how many hours are they willing to eat nothing but slop. Says Daniele, "When they lifted the cover off, I was, oh, my God, 30 days. I’ve been on slop for two weeks before and my body can’t really handle it. I felt like I was going to die." Bidding the lowest, Zach is eliminated; Kail and Jen will be eating slop for 720 hours.
The next item is Power Shortage. Of the next five Head of Household competitions, how many are they willing not to participate in. Bidding only 3, Daniele is eliminated. Kail and Jameka will be sitting out for the next 5 HOH competition. Dick tells Daniele it’s OK.
The last item is Money Walks: How much of the "Big Brother" $500,000 prize money, up to $250,000 would you be willing to give up to win the Power of Veto. Eric is pulling for Jameka. Jen wins the Power of Veto with giving up $250,000 of her winnings. Jamkea bid $10,000; Kail bid $248,999, Jen bid $250,000. Jen wins the Power of Veto. Jameka said she would not give up $250,000 for anyone in the game. In the Diary Room, Dick says, "I’m so happy right now. This is so awesome. It couldn’t be any better."
After the commercial break, Jameka broke down about not being able to compete in the Head of Household competition for the next five weeks. A still-composed Amber tells her, "God did this for a reason, girl. You were not selfish, you were not greedy, you didn‘t let the Devil get the best of you, you were faithful to God … Everything happens for a reason, girl."
Jameka loses it. She prays to God and again they start with the organ music. It still makes me laugh when they do that. Daniele tells Jameka she feels really bad. In the Diary Room, Jameka says Daniele "I don’t think Daniele was sorry. I think she wanted Eric out. She is a liar. She is her father’s child. She has a more cunning, witty way about it."
Jen thinks she and Daniele could work together and go to talk in the Head of Household room. Jen says she will use the veto on herself. Jen says she will vote to keep Kail. If Daniele has Jen’s vote to keep Kail, she guarantees Jen 100 percent she will not go back on her word and Kail will stay in the house. Daniele tells Jen she has one person in mind to replace Jen, but won’t tell her who at first, but then finally tells her it’s Eric, saying he is the brains of everything since Day 1.
Dick tells Jen if she lays off Daniele, he will lay off Jen. He tells her he is sorry and he is "totally down with calling a truce." (Get down, get down … get down, get down). Jen said she would like that. In the Diary Room, he says Jen needs Jen on his side.
In the Head of Household room, Dick tells Jen, "As long as we’re trying to get each other out, and everybody else in this house is totally and completely safe, and I don’t think that anybody in this house deserves to have the feeling that they’re totally safe week after week after week while we’re at each other’s throat … Eric is playing both sides, and I know it." Dick tells Jen it was Eric as the bottom of every single lie. He said Eric set Nick up from the very beginning and Eric needs to pay the price for that.
Jen says strategically it would be good to work with Dick and Daniele, but says she’s not sure if she’s ready to work morally with Dick and Daniele.
We see the houseguests pouring the "funk" over their heads. Better them than me.
Jen tells Jessica Eric is a good manipulator. Jen tells Jessica Eric told her he was playing everyone.
Jessica tells Dustin she believes them now. Dustin and Jameka don’t buy it.
It’s time for "America’s Player" results: Eric has to try to convince he’ll take Jessica to the final two. Eric easily completes his task.
Every time a buzzer goes off, they have to go "dump the funk" over their heads. Jen says it smells like manure.
Dick confronts Eric about constantly lying to him. Dick says, "You’re outed. You’re totally outed." Dick tells Eric is going up on the block. I’d quote more of this conversation, but there’s be a lot of "blankety-blank" words edited out.
Kail and Dustin say Daniele should put her Dad up for eviction.
Daniele says, "Dustin told me that I should nominate my Dad. I don’t know where he gets off thinking that he can do that. I’m HOH and the replacement nominee hasn’t been chosen and I very well could put him up on the block." Uh, Daniele, what happened to your plan that was going to cause an uproar in the "Big Brother" house? (See what I mean, Michael?)
After the commercial break, it’s time for the Power of Veto Meeting. With Kail and Jen on the chopping block, Jen has the power to veto one of the nominations. Jen choses to use the Power of Veto on herself.
Daniele has to chose a replacement nominee. She nominates Eric. So now it’s Kail and Eric on the chopping block.
Eric said, "It’s a desperation move. They’re trying to bury the player that they think is the best player and the biggest threat to them. It’s going to blow up in their face. Dick and Daniele, they are very dead in this game."
Says Kail: "Daniele made a lot of promises that I’m just not sure she can keep. I got the impression that I was going to be completely safe. We’ll see."
Dick says, "This is so rad! I love this! This is so awesome! Me, Daniele, Kail and Jen are working towards the same goal of keeping Kail in the house. How’s that for flipping the whole thing over?"
Jessica: "I would say this week I’m an extremely powerful player because I’m kinda of the vote both sides are relying on. This week, I feel like there might be a lot of butt kissing towards my way."
And for this week’s "America’s Player" question: Which houseguest should Eric flatter incessantly in order to ensure his safety in the house?" I’m going to say Dick, just because I want to see Eric push him over the edge.
(And, by the way, we made it through a whole episode without Amber crying! Mark this one in the record books, gang.)

In the Diary Room, Daniele says, "I know since Nick’s gone that Zach’s going to try to cling to me, because we have the ‘Nick bond’ or whatever, and I can use that to my advantage."
Dustin says if Dick and Daniele decide to go through with their plan, it’s going to be the two of them out on their own.
Wow, it’s been 13 minutes into the show and we’ve yet to see Amber cry. But the night is young.
After the commercial break, it’s time to pick players for the Veto Competition. Daniele, Jen and Kail will play, along with three other houseguests, chosen at random. Daniele picks the first ball and picks Zach; Jen picks Dustin; Kail gets Houseguest’s Choice and picks Jameka. Amber will serve as host. (That is, if she can keep herself emotionally together).
At the Veto Competition, there’s a bright blue pond and there were things covered up. "I saw things covered and when you see things covered, it’s never good," said Kail.
The competition is called, "The Numbers Don’t Lie." The person who bids the highest number will be required to actually complete the task. The lowest bidder is eliminated from the competition. The last houseguest standing will win the Power of Veto.
The first item is, "Show Me the Bunny": Over the next five days, how many hours are the houseguests willing to wear a bunny suit in order to stay in the competition. Dustin, bidding the lowest number of 100, is eliminated. Zach, Kail, Jen and Daniele have to wear the bunny suit.
The next item is, "Dump the Funk" Over the next 24 hours, how many times are they willing to have a funky mixture dumpeed over their head. They get a chance to look at the mixture before bidding. "It looks like looking in the bottom of a port-a-potty. It was just gross," says Kail. Everyone has offered to "Dump the Funk" on their head for 24 hours. All remain in the game.
Next is, $10,000 cash. The person who writes down the highest number from zero to 10,000 wins the amount of money they write down, however, he or she will be eliminated. All bid zero. Everyone is still in the competition and no one wins the $10,000 cash.
Next is "Sloppy Summer." Over the next 30 days, how many hours are they willing to eat nothing but slop. Says Daniele, "When they lifted the cover off, I was, oh, my God, 30 days. I’ve been on slop for two weeks before and my body can’t really handle it. I felt like I was going to die." Bidding the lowest, Zach is eliminated; Kail and Jen will be eating slop for 720 hours.
The next item is Power Shortage. Of the next five Head of Household competitions, how many are they willing not to participate in. Bidding only 3, Daniele is eliminated. Kail and Jameka will be sitting out for the next 5 HOH competition. Dick tells Daniele it’s OK.
The last item is Money Walks: How much of the "Big Brother" $500,000 prize money, up to $250,000 would you be willing to give up to win the Power of Veto. Eric is pulling for Jameka. Jen wins the Power of Veto with giving up $250,000 of her winnings. Jamkea bid $10,000; Kail bid $248,999, Jen bid $250,000. Jen wins the Power of Veto. Jameka said she would not give up $250,000 for anyone in the game. In the Diary Room, Dick says, "I’m so happy right now. This is so awesome. It couldn’t be any better."
After the commercial break, Jameka broke down about not being able to compete in the Head of Household competition for the next five weeks. A still-composed Amber tells her, "God did this for a reason, girl. You were not selfish, you were not greedy, you didn‘t let the Devil get the best of you, you were faithful to God … Everything happens for a reason, girl."
Jameka loses it. She prays to God and again they start with the organ music. It still makes me laugh when they do that. Daniele tells Jameka she feels really bad. In the Diary Room, Jameka says Daniele "I don’t think Daniele was sorry. I think she wanted Eric out. She is a liar. She is her father’s child. She has a more cunning, witty way about it."
Jen thinks she and Daniele could work together and go to talk in the Head of Household room. Jen says she will use the veto on herself. Jen says she will vote to keep Kail. If Daniele has Jen’s vote to keep Kail, she guarantees Jen 100 percent she will not go back on her word and Kail will stay in the house. Daniele tells Jen she has one person in mind to replace Jen, but won’t tell her who at first, but then finally tells her it’s Eric, saying he is the brains of everything since Day 1.
Dick tells Jen if she lays off Daniele, he will lay off Jen. He tells her he is sorry and he is "totally down with calling a truce." (Get down, get down … get down, get down). Jen said she would like that. In the Diary Room, he says Jen needs Jen on his side.
In the Head of Household room, Dick tells Jen, "As long as we’re trying to get each other out, and everybody else in this house is totally and completely safe, and I don’t think that anybody in this house deserves to have the feeling that they’re totally safe week after week after week while we’re at each other’s throat … Eric is playing both sides, and I know it." Dick tells Jen it was Eric as the bottom of every single lie. He said Eric set Nick up from the very beginning and Eric needs to pay the price for that.
Jen says strategically it would be good to work with Dick and Daniele, but says she’s not sure if she’s ready to work morally with Dick and Daniele.
We see the houseguests pouring the "funk" over their heads. Better them than me.
Jen tells Jessica Eric is a good manipulator. Jen tells Jessica Eric told her he was playing everyone.
Jessica tells Dustin she believes them now. Dustin and Jameka don’t buy it.
It’s time for "America’s Player" results: Eric has to try to convince he’ll take Jessica to the final two. Eric easily completes his task.
Every time a buzzer goes off, they have to go "dump the funk" over their heads. Jen says it smells like manure.
Dick confronts Eric about constantly lying to him. Dick says, "You’re outed. You’re totally outed." Dick tells Eric is going up on the block. I’d quote more of this conversation, but there’s be a lot of "blankety-blank" words edited out.
Kail and Dustin say Daniele should put her Dad up for eviction.
Daniele says, "Dustin told me that I should nominate my Dad. I don’t know where he gets off thinking that he can do that. I’m HOH and the replacement nominee hasn’t been chosen and I very well could put him up on the block." Uh, Daniele, what happened to your plan that was going to cause an uproar in the "Big Brother" house? (See what I mean, Michael?)
After the commercial break, it’s time for the Power of Veto Meeting. With Kail and Jen on the chopping block, Jen has the power to veto one of the nominations. Jen choses to use the Power of Veto on herself.
Daniele has to chose a replacement nominee. She nominates Eric. So now it’s Kail and Eric on the chopping block.
Eric said, "It’s a desperation move. They’re trying to bury the player that they think is the best player and the biggest threat to them. It’s going to blow up in their face. Dick and Daniele, they are very dead in this game."
Says Kail: "Daniele made a lot of promises that I’m just not sure she can keep. I got the impression that I was going to be completely safe. We’ll see."
Dick says, "This is so rad! I love this! This is so awesome! Me, Daniele, Kail and Jen are working towards the same goal of keeping Kail in the house. How’s that for flipping the whole thing over?"
Jessica: "I would say this week I’m an extremely powerful player because I’m kinda of the vote both sides are relying on. This week, I feel like there might be a lot of butt kissing towards my way."
And for this week’s "America’s Player" question: Which houseguest should Eric flatter incessantly in order to ensure his safety in the house?" I’m going to say Dick, just because I want to see Eric push him over the edge.
(And, by the way, we made it through a whole episode without Amber crying! Mark this one in the record books, gang.)

OK, Michael, here you go ...
Michael said: This is the second BB8 blog I have read today, and neither of you talk about Daniele's cryptic comment at the end of the show about really shaking things up in the house this week. That was probably the most interesting part of an otherwise boring episode. Does she think that trying to backdoor Eric will shake things up that much, or is it possible that she will totally blindside her father and put him up on the block?I hope it is the latter as I have grown very tired of listening to him carry on each episode. If I were Daniele, I wouldn't have spoken to him in two years either.

"Big Brother 8," Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007
When we last left the houseguests, they were hanging upside down being pelted by nasty looking stuff from the sky.
The first one out is Amber. Then Eric is disqualified when he put his torso higher than the bar he was hanging from. Then Jameka falls off the bar.
Daniele said she’s furious that Nick was voted out of the house. "Miss Big Brother Teardropper" Amber said she was nauseous about the eviction.
But things can never be simple in the "Big Brother" house. A plane carrying a banner flies overhead. It says, "We love Nick. Amber and Eric are liars." Here’s a shocker: Amber is upset.
Then Zach is out of the competition. Jameka is elated when Zach falls off because she felt Zach might have nominated her for eviction had he won.
Dick, then Jessica, are out of the competition, leaving only Daniele, Kail and Jen hanging.
Evel Dick starts haranguing Kail and Jen. Jen calls Daniele a cheat for her relationship with Nick when she already has a boyfriend.
"America’s Player" Eric turns out to be "America’s Knight in Shining Armor" when he jumps to Daniele’s defense, telling Jen to "let her hang in peace." Hang in peace? Why does that strike me as funny?
Next, Jen is out of the competition.
Kail drops out as long as Daniele promises not to let Kail go home this week. Ladies and gentlemen, and Big Brother blog readers everywhere, Daniele wins the Head of Household.
Finding herself again nominated for eviction, Kail says she’s going to be "a professional on-the-block person."
Daniele wonders who cast the second vote to evict Kail.
Amber says she wasn’t the one who voted for Kail to be evicted. Daniele thinks she’s being set up.
After the commercial break, we see Daniele’s Head of Household room, with pictures of her boyfriend. In the Diary Room, Dick gets all teary when he talks about his Mom watching him and Daniele getting closer on TV.
Daniele suspects Eric about voting for Kail after she saw the banner because "no one would suspect him."
Daniele and Dick tell Jessica that it’s Eric who’s been the weasel voter. Daniele, Dick and Jessica discuss nominating Eric for eviction. They promise not to say anything to anyone, and then airhead Jessica goes right to Eric and tells him.
It’s time for the next "America’s Player" question: To whom do you want Eric to promise to take to the final two? It’s up to Eric to decide whether this promise is the truth or a lie. I’d like to see Dick or Daniele in the final two.

After the recap from the last episode, Nick says he was put up because he’s perceived as a threat later on in the game. Kail is surprised that Dustin nominated Nick because all along Dustin has been telling her he’d be putting up Zach as a replacement nominee. And here’s the biggest shocker … Amber leaves the room in tears.. (Who didn’t see THAT coming???)
Kail goes to talk to Dustin and says she was totally blindsided by Dustin nominating Nick. Dustin tells Kail Nick is a threat to everyone in this house.
Amber is STILL crying. In a quick flashback, we see Amber telling Dustin that he might be able to "backdoor" Nick, but when Nick asks her if she knew this was going to happen she tells him Dustin brought his name up but she didn’t think this was going to happen. Amber says she loves Nick so much. I’m not sure which Amber loves more: Nick or crying.
Daniele tells Nick everyone thought he voted to evict Kail. Nick tells Daniele the emotions he feels for her are real. Nick is upset that Daniele knew the whole time he was going to be nominated and she never told her.
Nick tells Dustin no hard feelings about being nominated, but he would have liked to have been told beforehand. Amber is still wallowing in bed in misery.
Dick calls Jen the B word for putting Jameka in a bad spot in the Power of Veto competition. Evel tells Jen, "You are a good person in your own mind!" and that she is hung up on herself.
We see Nick shaves his hair into a Mohawk.
Tensions flare between Daniele and Jen about Jen‘s relationship with Nick. Evel pours his drink on Jen’s head. Two points for Dick.
Daniele, Dick, Jen and Amber talk about the nominees. Daniele says Kail’s "a mess … She walks around like she‘s going to kill herself." Dick said, "I would like to see Kail go. So far as my daughter, personally, I’d like to see Nick go." Jen says, "There’s really no reason to keep Nick around. He’s been miserable (She should talk!) and he’s been rude and he’s of no help to me." Says a still tearful Amber, "I think Nick is a really, really genuine, good person. I think it’s better if he goes because then I won’t have someone to depend on, you know? Maybe I can get my emotions under control." It’s nice to have a dream, Amber. She says if she doesn’t stop crying, it’s going to bite her in the keyster.
After the commercial break, Nick talks to Amber and tells her he thinks he can get the votes to stay in the house. Nick says he has trust with Amber, Daniele and Jameka. He also thinks he would also have Zach and Dick, and possibly Jessica because she hates Kail.
Not to be outdone by Nick, Eric has Dustin cut his hair into a Mohawk. Copycat. (I'm actually considering the same look. OK, I'm done considering it. No way.)

Jameka says the benefits for getting Nick out of the house is he is "pretty much the owner of Zach." Jessica says, "I really want Kail out of the house. She tried to be so powerful in the beginning, and it backfired in her face; then she tried to be a moping dog, and that backfired in her face." Jameka says she wants to keep Kail in the house because "she does an excellent job with putting the dishes away, and drying them, and making sure that the kitchen has no dishes out of place."
After the commercial break, Julie Chen talks privately with Dustin in the Head of Household room, Dustin tells Julie Chen he regrets putting Jameka in a compromising position.
Kail says she never takes one week in the "Big Brother" house for granted and appreciates all the houseguests’ friendships. Nick tells Daniele he is very smitten with her and calls her the "bee’s knees." (Wow, I thought that phrase went out years ago …) (And do bees really have knees???)
It’s time for the live voting. The results:Jen, Jameka, Jessica, Amber, Dick and Daniele vote to evict: NickZach votes to evict Kail, and Eric votes to evict Kail, per orders of America
By a vote of 6 to 2, Nick is evicted from the "Big Brother" house.
Talking with Julie Chen after leaving the "Big Brother" house, Nick says it all falls on Daniele about pursuing a relationship outside the house.
Nick then sees the goodbye videos the houseguests made for him in the event of his eviction. Zach says he tried to keep him in the house as best he could; Kail is sorry to see he is outside the house; Dick told him he should have been upfront about the alliance; Amber admits she sort of knew he was going up on the chopping block; Daniele says she has a strong friendship with him and she’s sorry he didn’t make it farther.
After the commercial break, it’s time for the Head of Household competition, "Time’s Up." Every has to climb on a pendulum and sit there. If at any time they fall off, they’ll be eliminated. The pendulums start swinging. The last person on their pendulum wins Head of Household.
It’s time for the "America’s Player" poll: Which houseguest to you want Eric to get nominated? I’m gunning for (here’s a surprise) Jen.

“Big Brother 8”: Tuesday, July 31, 2007
I’m doubling up on episodes tonight. Spent Tuesday night at the movies. Saw "Hairspray" … great flick. I've taken notes on tonight's (Thursday's) "Big Brother 8" episode, but I'm too tired to flesh them out and add some zing to it.
Now, on Dasher, on Dancer … oops, I mean on to Tuesday's episode of "Big Brother 8":
It’s Day 28, after the recap. We find Dick is very, very, VERY excited (did I mention he’s excited?) that Kail and Jen have been nominated for eviction. Actually, so am I …
Jen is in shock and in tears over being nominated by Dustin for eviction. Dustin tells Kail that neither she or Jen are his targets this week. His target is…..why should I tell you everything?….Oh, alright, if you insist….his target is…..Zach. (I know, I know, I’m a master of suspense.)

Jen says she’s hurt by Dustin’s nomination, while Kail is shocked, rather than hurt. But Kail reassures Jen that neither of them will be leaving: "We’re the toughest girls in this house," says Kail. (Why do I have the disco song "Bad Girls" in my head now????)
Alone, Amber tells Dustin she thinks Zach, Nick and Jen are in an alliance. Amber says Dustin might be able to "backdoor" Nick. "Big Brother" to English translation: Get Nick evicted.
But, fellow "Big Brother" fanatics, the action’s only just starting, for it’s now time for the Veto Competition! (Sorry, I’ll try to contain myself …). Competing are Dustin, as head of household; Jen and Kail, the two nominees; and three other houseguests chosen at random: Daniele, Jameka and Jessica. Dustin must chose a houseguest to host the Veto Competition, and Dustin chooses Eric. We learn the Power of Veto Competition will take place later.
Jameka tells Kail God has already ordained who’s going to win the Power of Veto Competition. (I love the Church organ music they’re playing while Jameka is talking!) Jameka tells Jen she will fight for Jen, because Jen chose her name.
Meanwhile, (you know, we could really use a narrator like the guy from the 1960s "Batman" TV series… "Meanwhile, back at the Batcave …), anyway, meanwhile, Evel Dick is upset that Jameka will fight for Jen. Jameka says she’s not going to compromise herself to please Evel Dick.
In the Diary Room, Dick asks, "Jameka, don’t you think that God has something better to do? Do you really think He’s worried about your freakin’ ping pong ball and you playing for this skanky chick?" Dick says, "This is her personal agenda, not God’s will."
At the Veto Competition, the participants have to wear black clothing and black berets. Berets??? (In the words of "Will & Grace"’s Karen Walker, "Honey, I thought we talked about the beret. Patty Hearst couldn’t pull it off, and she had money and a gun.") When the houseguests come into the Big Brother house from the backyard, they find the living room had been transformed into an art gallery.
They have to guess the Big Brother slogans and phrases depicted in pictures show to them, playing for "Big Brother Bucks." (The first phrases and slogans are: Head of Household, Memory Wall, Diary Room and Power of Veto). Then, there’s an offer of a prize, and Dustin purchases a six-night trip for two to Barbados with non-stop champagne flights for $750 "Big Brother Bucks." We then have more puzzles (the phrases are: Nominee, Alliance, Julie Chen, Chopping Block). Then, they are given the chance to purchase $5000 cash for $1500 "Big Brother Bucks" and, again, Dustin purchases it. The houseguests are not pleased. (I wonder if Julie Chen is depicted on the "Big Brother Buck.")
Amber is having a crying fit (again) in the Diary Room because Dustin took the money, because she said Jameka could have easily taken the money and didn’t. (I’m buying stock in tissues now). Jen then throws the competition by answering "Safety" when the correct answer is "The Power is Up For Grabs," putting the burden on Jameka of taking Jen off the chopping block.
Dustin says he feels terrible for taking the $5,000, saying, "Everybody hates me right now." Jameka says, "God is so gangsta, that’s what I love about Him."
Dick starts in on Jen about putting the burden of the Power of Veto on Jameka.
After the commercial break, it’s time for the results of the "America’s Player" question: Which question would America like Eric to start in the "Big Brother" house? The answer: "I’d do that for a dollar." He needs to get a minimum of three different people on five different days to say the catchphrase. Eric gets Evel Dick on board with getting the other houseguests to say "I’d do that for a dollar."
Dustin says they have two options to nominate in Jen‘s place: Nick or Zach. Daniele is upset about nominating Nick. Jameka says they should get Zach out because he’s "shady."
At the Veto Meeting, Jen says Jameka should use the Power of Veto on her because, "I always think everything happens for a reason. I have enjoyed being here and I’m sure everyone else has. We’ve all grown together and I really enjoy being here." Kail said, "We’re in a hard position, ‘cause we’re friends and I’m not going to ask her to chose the veto with me over my friend." Jameka says she’s learned some things about individual’s characters this week, and uses the Power of Veto on Jen.
As Head of Household, Dustin must now replace Jen on the chopping block. He chooses Nick, because, says Dustin, he’s been playing all sides since Day 1 and has worn himself thin strategically.
It’s time for "America’s Player" question: Which of the two nominees do you want to get evicted from the "Big Brother" house: Nick or Kail? Well, I already know what’s going to happen, since I’ve had to double up on episodes tonight. I’m voting for Kail to be evicted. And, yes, I’d do that for a dollar ...

It’s Day 28, after the recap. We find Dick is very, very, VERY excited (did I mention he’s excited?) that Kail and Jen have been nominated for eviction. Actually, so am I …
